Frank D'Castro was born in 1964 in Liverpool, England of mixed, Anglo/Burmese parents who emigrated to England from Burma in the 50's.

He studied art at Southport College of Art and St Helens College of Art, Merseyside from 1980 to 1982, and has been a painter and portrait artist for more than 30 years.

In 2009 he took part in the 'Merry at The Mocha' exhibition in Liverpool, at the Metro Gallery, Sir Thomas St, where he displayed his work entitled 'BURMOUSERS OR SCOUSESE?'. Depicting his family's integration from Burmese to British life and culture [pictured right].

The work consisted of 9 large scale paintings, taken from old family snapshots, mounted to replicate snaps pinned on a notice board and painted in oil and housepaints on woodchip wallpapered hardboard.

The show was very well received and many commissions were requested to create portraits along similar lines taken from their old photos, and painted in traditional oil on canvas.

A lifelong Everton supporter, he was commissioned in 2011 by EFC Heritage Society to reproduce a portrait of Will Cuff, a former club manager and chairman from the early 1900's and one of  Everton's most important figures.

The portrait was presented at Goodison Park, the home of Everton FC and now hangs in the boardroom,a dying wish of Will Cuff himself, and a dream come true for both the Heritage Society and the artist.
